On Thursday, 21 October, The Rum Story – the Dark Spirit of Whitehaven event will take place. This is a free event hosted by David Knight and is a must for all genuine music lovers. It will also explain the background to each piece of music, from Soca, Calypso, Ska, Bluebeat, and Rudeboy. It is set to take attendees on a musical journey across the Caribbean, examining and explaining some of the various musical presentations from across the Caribbean. On Sunday, 17 October, A Musical Journey Across the Caribbean and their back story will start at 4pm. There will be testimonies from groups and individuals who have worked with the group over its lifetime. This event will highlight the journey the group has undertaken over the last ten years. On Tuesday, 5 October, the PBHG Anniversary Event will start at 7pm. This Black History Month, Preston Black History Group (PBHG) will be hosting a series of events at Jalgos Sports and Social Club, Rose Street, Preston. ![]()
